We love this place and visit almost every time we come to san francisco . It's one of the few places we can find really good tenyo takeda mushrooms. They have everything to make sushi and already prepared meals. Lotsa Japanese products that my wife loves. I go for the chips and sodas. Sweet stuff can't normally be found here in the States. Love the cheetos with guilty cheese. A delicious snack. It can usually be packed during the day, but service is fast. Not expensive, either. So if looking for a little bit of everything it's a great market.

The sushi is WAY better than Whole Foods / Safeway (unsurprisingly). Fish and rice both have fresher taste and texture, especially at lunch time. Lots of people pick up lunch here but it doesn’t get too crowded.

Great Japanese market! They have everything niche like real hon-mirin and high end cooking sake. They have fresh produce and meats too. Will definitely be back.

Awesome market for Japanese and Asian goodies. The absolute best place if you want to stop for berto boxes, sushi, sashimi, and so much more. I loved stopping by here and felt welcomed and invited. This place is definitely where the locals go, I saw a ton of people in Japan town eating from their market and eventually walked to find it!

Nijiya is my absolute favorite Japanese supermarket! The produce is always fresh, the store is spotless, and there’s such a quiet joy in discovering new products from Japan. I love coming here for both my everyday Japanese groceries and skincare must-haves. The ready-to-eat food is also delicious—Whether you’re stocking up or just exploring, Nijiya is a beautiful experience every time.

Omg we wished we found out this place earlier, excellent bento with affordable price. The only one let us down is the pork bowl, the pork was extremely dry but the rest was good. Highly recommended the sashimi seasonal special, delicious scallops and a lots of crab. Will definitely come back to try more bento and hopefully the pork Katsu will get improved.
